About WILSON

Wilson Leonard is a Colorado native, born and raised in Denver with a long family history in Denver. He began his career in Finance and Accounting, acquiring a CPA and moving up quickly into positions of assistant controller at AIMCO and CFO at Qwest while beginning to invest in real estate in central Denver. After acquiring 16 residential single-family investment properties throughout Denver, his passion and interest in real estate surpassed his interest in corporate finance. He chose to start his own company doing full-time real estate work, starting with residential mortgages in the early 2000’s, and soon adding residential brokerage services.

Given his financial background, he has been able to lend a more sophisticated view of real estate investing and financing to his clients. From the beginning, his real estate business has always been about providing value-added services to clients in a unique and useful way. Instead of relying on marketing and socializing to build a business, Wilson takes a real approach. He wakes up each and every day and asks how he can make a difference through greater knowledge and expertise coupled with new and interesting product and service offerings with the RealGroup. Those unique offerings currently include a like-minded team and over 20 single-family homes, which his company offers to clients for rent under short-term flexible options to assist in the transition while they navigate buying in Denver.

Wilson offers next-level knowledge, insight and support through the entire cycle of some of the biggest financial decisions clients will make in their lives, whether it is a buy- or sell-only transaction, simultaneous buying and selling, investing and managing multiple properties, or starting from scratch and relocating to the Denver Metro area. Today, Wilson is the founder and managing broker of RealGroup, the manifestation of Wilson’s vision of delivering all the attributes described above, but with the scale that comes with a brokerage team and the ability to offer these services to a wider audience. Both Wilson and the RealGroup team are here to meet all their clients’ real estate needs with creativity, ingenuity and dedicated attention.

When we found out we were relocating from California to Colorado we had assumed that we would need to rent for a year while we got to know the area and looked to buy a home. We found Wilson through Zillow and were immediately drawn to the flexibility of his services that would allow us to live in a short term, flexible rental while we searched for our permanent home. We were also impressed with the wonderful reviews about his rental and real estate services.

Working with Wilson ended up exceeding our high expectations. His rental in Platt Park was in pristine condition and suited our short term needs perfectly.

As for the home buying process, Wilson took the time to truly understand what we were looking for and what was important to us. His knowledge of the Denver neighborhoods is unparalleled and allowed us to narrow our search based on our criteria. Wilson is clearly invested in finding the perfect home for each of his clients, he is patient and diligent throughout the entire search process. When it came to making an offer and closing, he provided sound advice that helped us get a great deal on our dream home. He also remained present and engaged throughout every step of the closing process which gave us the confidence and security we needed as first time home buyers.

I would recommend Wilson to anyone looking to purchase a home in the Denver area. He's a consummate professional and very enjoyable to work with!

Our home-buying journey with Wilson at Banyan Real Estate started almost a year before we relocated to Denver. During a job interview visit, we connected with Wilson for a community tour. We were immediately impressed with Wilson's encyclopedic knowledge of Denver, his perspective on the history of neighborhoods and types of homes, and his enthusiasm. This was not a "I have a key to open the door as your agent" experience. Wilson knows nearly every block in the city, informed us about trade-offs we needed to consider, and was instrumental in getting us comfortable and excited about Denver.

We decided to rent from Wilson while we settled in and began our house search. His company's customer service was outstanding. The rental contract was a huge draw, providing us the flexibility of searching for a home without having to navigate around a fixed lease. Peter was our "go-to" for our rental home, and he was very responsive and proactive with any questions or issues we had.

At the start of our home search, Wilson spent several hours with us discussing our needs and giving us an update on the Denver market. We never felt pressure to start the process or to find a house quickly. In fact, Wilson encouraged us to see homes we knew we wouldn't buy because he wanted us to get a feel for types of homes, prices, size, and neighborhoods so we would be informed to make trade-offs - especially as first-time buyers. During each showing, Wilson would walk us through his assessment, and guide us through a discussion of the home and how it stacked against other homes we liked. And he was quick to point out any concerns regarding the houses we saw.

The home-buying process could not have been more smooth. Wilson and his team were proactive and immensely helpful each step of the way - from walking us through the offer, to spending hours with us at inspection, and herding all the moving pieces for the title and our lender. We felt like Wilson really had our back; he even arranged for a meet and greet with our home's builder to help us establish a relationship and learn more about the home.

We are incredibly grateful for Wilson's guidance and patience through our home-buying process. We're thrilled with the home we found, and we would highly recommend Wilson and his team. We look forward to working with him again!

Relocating from CA to CO seemed like a massive undertaking with many unknowns until we met Wilson. His model of flexibly renting a great house in Platt Park while we got to know Denver's neighborhoods and real estate market gave us a the ideal landing spot to start house hunting. Wilson was the picture of professionalism; and his local knowledge, and seasoned negotiation skills got us the house we're excited to make our first home. I really can't recommend Wilson highly enough!
