Just off Interstate 35, Hunter’s Hill sits about 30 miles south of Austin, sandwiched between the recreational expanse of the Purgatory Creek Natural Area to the north and a hub of shopping to the south. Part of the city of San Marcos, the neighborhood offers a residential atmosphere close to the capital of the Lone Star State. “It’s close to a lot of shopping,” says Adam Carter, a Realtor with Real Broker LLC. “Hunter’s Hill is within about five minutes of Texas State University and two or three minutes of the highway. There are all kinds of restaurants around there. It’s a very convenient location for everything.”
The balance of outdoor activities, commercial outlets, highway access and the suburban landscape of the neighborhood itself draws residents to Hunter’s Hill. “San Marcos, in general, is probably the friendliest town I’ve ever lived in,” Carter says. “People love living here. Because it’s a university town, you’d think it’d be a big party place, but it’s not. It’s very family-friendly with an overall friendly atmosphere, but it’s also growing like crazy.
