GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My first adventure in Aiken high was when I was in the 8th grade right before covid hit. The day we toured the school for our orientation was one of the scariest things I have done. As I walked around the giant School as a eighth grader I looked at all the older kids. I thought they were so cool. Having the freedom to be in high school, what a privilege. When I got to the school in 9th grade there was Shields mask and social distancing that constricted my views on the school. As we moved on to my 10th grade year I begin to Branch out. I began to make friends not only with my peers but with the faculty and staff. Even when the food wasn't all that great the lunch lady still put the hard work and time into it. As a step on into my senior year I look back at all my teachers my njrotc teacher my band teacher and my health science teacher as people that helped me navigate the world.

The best part about Aiken High is the school spirit, by far one of the most important things in the school I feel like. The only negative thing I could say about it is the amount of freshman that come into the school and have fights or disturbs the school. This has caused many assemblies to get cancelled and even many over the top consequences. They need to stop it.

We have been extremely satisfied with Aiken High. Because of the population of low-income students, the school deals with challenges which other schools may not face, but Aiken High rises to the challenge. We have especially been pleased with the guidance department. The new physical campus is such...

How does the school respond to bullying?: They don't respond whatsoever, the school tends to put it off, and try to delay any punishments, as they believe that "Oh it's just teenagers" "They'll stop". They never punish any form of bullying. My son is nearly to the edge, and is strongly considering d...

I have had 3 children at aiken high. The teachers we encountered were very supportive and worked well with each of my kids individual needs. My son, now in med school was very prepared for his college experience. Many of the classes at AHS were of the same rigor as his engineering classes at USC. an...
