The school is too small, so English classes are regulated to outside pods instead of within the building. The schools population keeps increasing while the size remains able to only comfortably hold about 1500, not 2000. A new building is being created nearby, center 2, an optional program for students. Instead, I hope future funds are used to expand the school and refurbish the classes and hallways.

My over all experience at Albemarle High school has been bumpy when I first started high school had been in a couple of hiccups I was getting in trouble an getting into things that I could have stayed out of I was choosing to not use or be at my best potential, Untill one day I had retuned back from school from a suspension and I was talking to my math teacher and she was explaning to me how much she stayed at her job because she cared about her students and she said I just want you all to be your best and I said ' and to do that I have to have dedication" ,From about the middle of sophmore year I was doing way better at using my full potential acedimcally physcially and emotionally I was working on my anger at my best ability ,Here I am a whole year later graduating early I am now working more on my level of patients it is hard but I am most certianly getting there and doing more for my self to become more sucessful in college and better myself as the next generations adult hood

I really like the amount of electives we have available to us. I wish I was able to take even more electives, but I have a full schedule.

My three children attend AHS now and we love the school. Plenty of activities and learning opportunities for each individual l. The school has a great “Patriot” spirit and the kids look very happy at all the social events for homecoming, sports, charity Powder Puff, etc.

The overall rating for this school does not reflect my family's experience. The school's MESA program attracts the best and brightest from all over the county - other county high schools have tried hard to come up with their own specialty programs in order to retain students. The school is larger th...

I graduated from Albemarle High in 1989 and my husband graduated from Western Albemarle High. At the time and into my adulthood Albemarle County we're rated great, so naturally we wanted our children to go to the same great schools. Under the current and previous administration, these school have fo...
