This school is great if you are looking for a challenge. Although the school is good, I wish the teachers cared a little more about teaching and less about assigning homework. Many of the teachers care only about assigning homework. There are still some teachers that care more about teaching. Overall, I love AIMS and would encourage anyone who wants a challenge to come to AIMS.

The school has a good concept of preparing their students for college however lacks the ability to enforce learning in a positive way. There is a heavy focus on getting a good grade rather than their students actually learning the presented material. There is a lack of energy all around the school due to extremely high pressure standards and strict rules.

The mandatory science fair competitions and overall rigor of classes was beneficial, although it did not seem like it at first. However, the fact that you cannot choose many of your classes, besides dual credit and language courses, means that you end up wasting time on classes that may not interest or benefit you.

This school is no longer an APS (Albuquerque Public School). The school council has re-chartered as a State Charter school and has no affiliation with APS any longer. It is a free public school.
