Located just outside Downtown Albuquerque, the Manzano Day School has been bringing joy to learning since 1938. The facility serves over 450 students from prekindergarten through fifth grade and has an average class size of 18 children. It’s accredited by the Independent School Association of the Southwest and the New Mexico State Department of Education, and is also a member of the National Association of Independent Schools. This non-profit, private elementary school has tailored its curriculum to educate the whole child instead of emphasizing memorization. In addition, there are six areas of co-curriculars for students to choose from. These include visual arts, music, library, Spanish, technology, and physical education. Manzano Day School is one of only a handful of institutions in the country that have an outdoor educational program and facility like Fenton Ranch. The ranch is located in the Jemez Mountains and teaches students about the environment and the importance of protecting it. Lessons in biology, ecology, geology, physical sciences, and much more are taught here as well as self-reliance and outdoor skills. The facility covers seven-acres and features a kitchen, sleeping quarters, a greenhouse, and several barns. If you’re looking for an award-winning school with unique programs, dedicated teachers, and excellent facilities, Manzano Day School is waiting for you.

Teachers really help a student in need, even outside of class, they make plans to help their student before or after class and even after school. More time for both student and teacher

This is an amazing school, with amazing teachers! The curriculum is wonderful and we're thrilled there is both an art and music program here. Manzano takes the time to work on each child's unique learning styles and obstacles.

It was a horrible experience. Save your money and invest in one of the great local or charter schools her in ABQ or go to another private school. Your money will be so much better spent.

Our family has been at MDS for 5 years now. Our children have flourished in the warm, caring and challenging environment. We have toured many schools in town and none compare. It’s very important in many ways that a school is non profit. The money goes back into the school and the board of trustees...
