I once had 3 cousins who went to that High School. They were bullied too many times that both dropped out who luckily didn't end up in the criminal justice system. 1 got his GED and went into the US Army. 1 moved away from the area. 1 had been lucky to only receive a fine for issues with the law. School bullying was a minor issue with this school unlike some places where it is a chronic issue the drop out is over 10%. The food was not great that I knew some decided to ditch lunch altogether. I also knew some female students who were bullied their entire time that it was cruel to them that both suffered from the same medical condition that it varied amongst them.

I would like to see improvement surrounding college preparation and inclusivity of myriad student identities. This school needs more funding and support. The teachers are extremely caring and invested in their students.

I am like the fact that the school is small and the class sizes are small. Sport activities are limited and it would be nice to have more after school activities and clubs. A good variety of AP and honor courses.

US News and World Report Silver Medal High School- says it all. Allegany is 27th out of more than 240 Maryland High schools, and 1041st from over 19,000 in the nation.
