Located on the west side of Allen Park, directly adjacent to Allen Park High School, Bennie Elementary school is one of three public elementary schools in the Allen Park Public Schools district. The school enrolls nearly 500 students, with one classroom of kindergarteners and three classrooms of each grade level from kindergarten to grade five. The school employs 24 fully certified full-time teachers, allowing for a student-to-teacher ratio of 19-to-1.
A typical school day for Bennie Elementary students includes a well-rounded curriculum of core subjects in addition to extras including physical education, media tech, music and art. The school houses a large cafeteria, gym, media center and library as well as a computer lab. There is plenty of outdoor space for exercise and play, with grassy sports fields, playgrounds and a garden-bordered courtyard. I agree AVOID THIS SCHOOL! My child has not been suffering from bullies from other students but rather from a teacher. My child and a few others who have been called names such as FAT, IDIOT and PIG... Even told it sucked for them that the rest of the class was coming in for lunch and they was left...
