GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Its a pretty good school. There are few surface level issues such as student discipline, food service, and the occasional tech error but the teachers and staff are great and provide an excellent education.

This school is not the best, however there's a lot of diversity for classes. There are many fights, but it's an overall safe school and the administrators are always trying to make improvements with the safety of this school.

Alton High is a decent school. However, I don't feel like I'm fully challenged and find myself quite bored. I would consider Alton High diverse, but I wish that diversity carried over into the honors classes.

Pretty bad. For every good teacher there 10 ones who don’t do there job to the point where they give you 10 assignments a day and just sit behind there desk
