Americus Sumter County High School is very diverse. There's a wide range of students. The academics were great for certain subjects. Furthermore, there are so many intelligent students. There are so many honor graduates. If I could change anything about Americus Sumter High School it would be the amount of drama in the school.

At Americus Sumter High School, achievement is highly important. Achievement can be accomplished by the help of teachers and other staff members. In addition, teachers try their best to help students if they have questions, or if students grades should improve. Not only will teachers help, but the school counselors will listen to any problem a student has. Although, there are some concerns at the school the I have observed. There are not many events held during the school day and as a student, I believe this is very important. Then there are sports. Football and basketball are very important sports, but it would also be important if other sports such as soccer, volleyball, softball, and other sports would be recognized. Then there is lunchtime. There should be better monitoring and organization during lunch as people would break in line and people should be aware on what's being served for lunch. Overall, Americus Sumter Highschool is not a perfect nor horrible school, but average.

it is a school where you can receive all the abilities to be someone in the future. the teachers are excellent they know you understand and help you achieve your goals they teach you the skills you need to go to college put effort and dedication into every child

The school has lost of good thing like opportunities for high achieving students and extracurriculars. But there is a school board member that has put her whole family working in the school system. Lots of good teachers leave each year because they find out they cant cross any of these family member...

As most people in the community know, the education isn't the best, but it is a lot better than the surrounding schools *cough* *cough* Southland Academy. I went to this school from 04-08. Football is NOT the most important thing. This school spends more money on football equipment than it does trying to get a computer in the class room for every student.
