This public school, located on Harbor Drive, just east of the I-5 freeway, serves approximately 600 students in kindergarten through sixth grade. Orange Grove Elementary School is one of the 24 schools that make up the Anaheim Elementary School District.
The school provides students with a core academic program in reading, math, science and social studies, with children's social and emotional wellbeing also playing a critical role in the curriculum as well. In addition, the school offers a number of district-sponsored programs, including a unique Dual Language Immersion program. Beginning in kindergarten, students are taught using a model that will enable them to think, read, write and communicate naturally in both English and Spanish. Classes are mixed with students who are both native English and native Spanish speakers.
The school also offers a Gifted and Talented Education Program (GATE) that is designed to meet the academic needs of exceptionally promising students in grades three through six.
Orange Grove Elementary understands that when families engage in their child’s education they learn more effectively. Because of this, the school has a Parent and Family Engagement Policy that helps to facilitate and ensure that this effort is taking place.
The school also offers an award-winning, YMCA-run after school program, known as Anaheim Achieves, that provides a variety of fun and engaging activities that help to reinforce the curriculum being taught to students during the school day.
