This public school, located adjacent to Boysen Park, serves approximately 450 students from kindergarten through sixth grade. Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School is one of the two dozen institutions that make up the Anaheim Elementary School District. The school underwent a major remodeling in 2021 in order to replace outdated structures with a more open, flexible and collaborative learning environment that better serves the teaching of science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM). In addition to its core curriculum, Roosevelt Elementary School also works to ensure that students’ social and emotional well being is being cared for as well. The school also offers a number of district-sponsored programs, including a unique Dual Language Immersion program in Spanish and English. Beginning in kindergarten, students are taught using a model that will enable them to think, read, write and communicate naturally in both Spanish and English. Classes are mixed with students who are both native English and native Spanish speakers. The school also offers a Gifted and Talented Education Program (GATE) that is designed to meet the academic needs of exceptionally promising students in grades three through six. Roosevelt Elementary also has a Parent and Family Engagement Policy that helps to facilitate and ensure that parents and caregivers play an active role in their student’s education. Roosevelt Elementary offers an award-winning, YMCA-run after school program, known as Anaheim Achieves, that provides a variety of fun and engaging activities that help to reinforce the curriculum being taught to students during the school day.

Our child has attended both TK and Kindergarten in the Mandarin Dual Language program and it has truly been an exceptional experience. We've seen tremendous growth - not only in her Mandarin language skills but also in her confidence, curiosity, and educational development. She comes home excited to...

We were very excited when this school reopened the year our child was supposed to start school. Prek through kinder teachers were amazing but then when we got to 1st grade, the support needed drastically diminished. There were multiple death threats made against our child and not one administrator t...

My older daughter started here after they rebuilt the school during the pandemic. My youngest now attends as well. I was worried about the ratings, but we’ve been nothing but thrilled with the education they’re getting. All of the staff are caring and kind, and the teachers we’ve had so far have bee...

My Daughters school has been a very good experience. The teachers put in every effort to making sure the kids are learning what they need to be. They give parents many updates on how the child is doing in class and what needs to be improved. They also give tools necessary for child to study at home....
