My son has thrived at AES. They have an amazing gifted program. The reading and math curriculum are excellent. He has made great academic progress and very good ACAP scores.

As a parent I was very disappointed with the special education department. My son has an IEP and it did not get followed. We had a different special ed teacher almost every year. I think the teachers leave bc of the central office staff. I don't blame them. One sat in an IEP meeting with us and talked down to his special ed teacher. It wasn't her fault his IEP wasn't being followed, the central office staff was making his teacher do other things. I hate that the special ed has a bad rep. Maybe if they got rid of the 2 ladies "in charge" it would be better and the teachers would want to stay.

We need leadership in our schools. The focus should be on the children. It's time for a change. Maybe after the school's report card grade something will change. It sad that I want to pull my children from a school that use to have a great reputation.
