GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I moved to Straughn High School my junior year. I was so scared to enter a school much bigger than what I came from. On my first day, the administration greeted me and made sure I got to where I needed to be. They took care of me and genuinely cared. I quickly made friends because Straughn is not just a school, it is a family. I will forever be grateful i moved here.

Straughn is a small conservative school. The teachers are judgmental, punishment and discipline is subjective to the teacher. They like to call themselves a family - red flag. The teachers are bullies.

Straughn looks ok from the outside but to be honest it's not that great. A lot of the time kids are given unfair punishments and same for the middle school. There are some good teachers and a lot of technology available though.
