Skyline High School is one of six high schools in the Ann Arbor Public School District. Skyline is a recent addition to the district, built to help accommodate the growing student population in Ann Arbor. The school site within the Barton Plateau and Huron River Heights neighborhood has helped increase the number of high school students on the city’s northwest side. The school draws attention to its academics with its status as a magnet school and offers Advanced Placement classes that a large percentage of Skyline students annually enroll in. These classes range from computer science principles to macroeconomics. Magnet School programming at Skyline attracts students from within and outside the district borders. These classes are designed to enhance student learning in career options and may also increase college admission prospects. Magnet courses of study at Skyline cover four distinct areas: biomedical science, design technology and engineering, business marketing and information technology and communication, media, and public policy. The city of Ann Arbor and the public school district administration proudly advertise that a regarded economic organization has named Ann Arbor the "most educated" city in America. The quality of the local public schools is one of the factors used in making that determination. Skyline's graduation rate has repeatedly been significantly higher than the state average.

Skyline High school doesn't have the greatest counselors, often they don't answer questions and cannot provide adequate information. However, Skyline High School has many academic opportunities such as magnets, internship help, and many APs plus a outstanding AP support system.

Overall, I had a great experience at Skyline. The school helped me find friends who have become family. I found my academic and college passion by discovering cybersecurity. I was able to excel and find my niche in areas and subjects that directly relate to what I would like to pursue in college, and my school made that possible. Skyline is a place that will give as much as a student is willing to take and pursue, which is a tremendous privilege.

I've had 2 children graduate from Skyline thus far. They received an excellent education and were well prepared for college. They both have careers in STEM at this time. They both participated in Magnet Programs and those were very valuable to their learning experience. The majority of their high sc...

Worst experience ever in trying to enroll in this school and was so glad that it didn't work out for us to attend there! Emails or calls never returned, patronizing front office staff avoid if you can!

I would give the school 2 1/2 stars if possible. As in, "pretty bad, but not hopeless." My child just began as a freshman this year. It's possible my assessment will change as time goes on, but my first impressions haven't been great. Your kid is just a number here. The teachers seem to barely know,...

Skyline's curriculum is like someone's dog ate their education psychology textbook and threw it up and tried to write a mission statement from the puke. They have trimesters, block schedules, school-within-a-school, mastery grading, and magnet programs, none of which they do well. As an educator I a...
