Foster Elementary School is located off High Point Road in west Arlington. The public school operates within the Arlington Independent School District and serves students in prekindergarten through sixth grade. The school’s namesake is Tom and Maude Foster. The two were siblings that attended Arlington schools. Maude was a second grade teacher who taught in Arlington for 42 years. She retired from teaching in 1979. Tom served on the school board for 13 years and retired from the board in 1973. The school participates in the Breakfast in the Classroom program, which provides students with a well-balanced meal before academic lessons each school day at no cost. The campus has bilingual Spanish and monolingual English classes available. There are also fine arts classes and physical education classes offered each week. The school has enrichment programs, like gifted and talented. There are also support programs, like special education. Students at Foster Elementary receive the foundational education necessary to progress and succeed in school and in life. Parents are encouraged to volunteer on campus and participate in school spirit activities. Students participate in weekly character development activities. The school mascot is the Falcons.
