GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Overall, Athens High School is a good school. Majority of the teachers there want to see you succeed not only in school, but in life as well. Athens itself is a good community, everybody knows everybody because it is fairly small. I think the biggest thing that Athens needs work on is the way they prepare students for college.

Athens HS was very focused on making you a well rounded student. They really pushed extracurriculars, and pushed their athletes to be as driven in the classroom, as on the field.

I liked that most of the teachers wanted to help you learn. I would change how you are taught. I would like to learn to learn, not to test.
