With over 1,200 students from preschool through 12th grade, the school challenges children through inquiry, innovation and impact, preparing them for future success. The Mount Vernon School engages learners through a combination of programs that include design thinking, social-emotional learning, service-learning and expeditionary learning. Combined with various clubs, athletics and arts programs, the school’s curriculum prepares students for college and the world beyond, learning not only in the classroom but also through interaction with others in the school and the greater community. More than 80% of Mount Vernon’s upper and middle school students play on sports teams. The Mount Vernon Mustangs offer programs in 15 sports, competing in the Georgia High School Association, the state’s most competitive league for private schools. Weekly chapel services allow students o focus on spiritual growth, and students gather in small community groups and affinity groups that encourage support and self-development. The Mount Vernon School leaves children well prepared for their futures with a well-balanced combination of college-preparatory academics, athletics, arts and spiritual life.

Mount Vernon is an excellent school, academically and community-wise. They allow students the freedom to shape their educational journey in highschool, which prepares them for that responsibility in college. They strongly emphasize community and put students first in every aspect. Attending Mount Vernon was one of the best decisions I've made in my academic journey.

Mount Vernon is a school that cares more about its outward appearance to parents, incoming students and college than it does about its students actually learning anything.

This is hands down one of the very best schools, if not the best private school in Georgia. Coming from out of town and touring so many of them, the method of collaborative education, with an excellent, versatile offering of classes, which sparks an instant interest in students, it's really hard to come close to. I can't say enough good things about this absolutely incredible school.

Our family is very new to Atlanta and had never needed to navigate the private school scene in a metropolitan area before. Perhaps some of my poor rating is due to that of the private school scene in Atlanta in general. Nonetheless, we applied to The school after being told there were openings only...

Outstanding. This school is starting to surpass Westminster and Lovett, and has passed Pace. Our son with learning differences has flourished, grown in confidence and ability. I would have never thought he'd be an A student, with a love for acting, considering he went in so shy. The teachers are spe...
