Springmont School in Atlanta was founded in 1963 and is the first Montessori school built in the southeast. The school began in a small classroom with eight students and grew to 30 students by the end of the first year, and the middle school for Springmont opened in 2002.
Springmont takes a unique approach to teaching and learning. The school provides an education that focuses on each stage of a child’s development and individualizes the curriculum for all students. Students can go at their own pace while teachers point students in the right direction.
Springmont offers an after-school program and extracurricular activities for elementary, including intramural sports, a running club, art, chess and karate classes. On top of their elementary and middle school programs, Springmont School also has a toddler program that serves students 18 months to three years old and a primary education program that helps students ages three to six.

I've been very happy with Springmont for my twins. Both have different needs but the teachers truly cater to their personalities and academic strengths and needs. In addition, it is incredibly diverse. The plus program is a huge asset for kids who need a little extra:)

We are still a new family to this school but have been happy so far with our daughter's progress from toddler to primary classroom. The true AMI Montessori experience is amazing, and our son went through primary at another Montessori out of state before we moved here. The independence, confidence and respect that the kids learn so early in life is phenomenal.

Teachers and administrators are warm and kind. They truly want the best for every student. Montessori approach creates a love of learning and respect for differences. Highly recommend. My son is in 7th grade, he has attended Springmont since 3rd grade.
