Usher-Collier Elementary School is a public prekindergarten through fifth-grade school located in Atlanta, Georgia. It serves over 400 students and has a student-teacher ratio of 12-to-1.
The school is dedicated to providing a quality education for students who have working parents. This mission is accomplished by developing the student’s social-emotional skills, physical health and learning abilities. Differentiated instruction such as small-group, whole-group, recreation and individual choice activities are presented in order to give every type of learner the chance to understand the material.
The STEM Program at Usher-Collier is a pivotal part of the learning environment. In October 2021, the school became a Cognia STEM Certified School. The STEM team includes a STEM specialist, STEM lab, teacher, engineering lab, also known as the Tinker Lab, and a coding lab, also known as the Innovation Cafe. Within this program, students are given monthly STEM activities and three or four project-based activities per year.
The school offers specials that extend outside of the traditional classroom. These specials include physical education, art, Spanish and music. These classes give students the opportunity to develop their creativity.
Usher-Collier Elementary School offers two athletics teams that students can join during the school year: basketball and cheerleading.
