I was at auburn in the gifted academy for two years, before doing the dual credit program at Rock Valley. It was challenging, and it felt like everyone in the gifted academy, including teachers, were just kind of done. It was not a great environment for me. Also there were a few security issues, with many fights. happening and some gun violence on the premises.

Teachers are amazing. They make sure their students are set for success at Auburn and in the real world. The administration tends to do a poor job of communicating events to parents, teachers, and students. The school feels like a safe place to be despite the bad rep it gets for its location.

There are fights every other day. The school is extremely broke, but when they do have funding, they pour it all into sports. We do have a good art program, but we have a terrible gifted program.

Make no mistake, it is a very academically challenging program, but has a national reputation for turning out competitive students many of whom end up at Ivy League schools with full scholarships. Unfortu...

I went to four different high schools in my time as a student. I was a part of the gifted program during my freshman year of high school. The environment was toxic and when I began having physical health issues, the administration all but abandoned me. There was also a culture of stratification in t...

Students continue on to competitive colleges and universities. The athletics at Auburn are stellar with state-level athletes. The perform...
