Hill Elementary School has been a top primary education provider in Westover Hills for over half a century. Like many schools in Arlington Independent School District, Hill is named after a trailblazing educator. In 1892, Maclovia Hill was among the first female graduates of the University of Texas. She taught in the district along with her sister, Nina Hill, for several decades. Today, Hill Elementary continues to uphold the Hill sisters’ commitment to excellence. The school’s exemplary performance record and enrichment opportunities have earned it numerous honors. Hill received a perfect rating from Greatschools.org for student test scores and a National Blue Ribbon School. The school offers several unique ways for students to expand learning beyond the core curriculum. In the Foreign Language Experience program, students are introduced to a new language every year. They learn Spanish, French, Chinese, Latin and German. Students can also compete in a math pentathlon, sing in the choir, run in Marathon Kids and even work in the school’s garden. A long-established, outstanding reputation and high-quality extracurricular programs make Hill Elementary a leading choice for pre-K through fifth grade education in Westover Hills.

Overall, this school is very good. Student diversity has also increased, which is nice. There is now overcrowding due to the bonds for new buildings not passing.

Children maybe be stressed, or may just not feel confident doing it themselves. One other problem is the school is majorly crowded, and the lunchrooms ar...

Hill School far exceeds most expectations of a large school in an urban district. The administration (principal and AP’s) are highly qualified, responsive, transparent and are effective leaders. This trickles form to the phenomenal teachers, food service providers, custodians, librarians, etc. We co...

Although Hill, like all schools, is not perfect, our children have had very positive experiences. Their personal and intellectual growth over the 2.5 years they have been at Hill has been astounding. The enrichment programs are excellent.

My son and daughter attended Hill, ten years apart. Both had excellent experiences. The leadership and teachers have always been very good and care about the outcome students. But what makes Hill special is parental involvement. Parents care and volunteer countless hours to make the school a wonderf...
