My kids have been at Austin Classical School from Kinder to now (high school). The pros: * loving, tight knit community - everyone will know your child and support them and your family. That doesn't mean you or your child will 'click' with everyone but the culture is one of warmth and welcome. * The academics are rigorous - sometimes slightly more so than I would prefer yet I am thankful they are pushed. * The size - which I also list as a con below - the pro of being small is: your kid can do EVERYTHING - there are no cuts in sports (but still competitive with A and B team), there are multiple clubs like robotics, fencing, chess, PSIA, math club, etc. The school does a good job of managing time commitments and schedules so that kids can do all the things. Cons: * the size - the school is only 10 yrs old ao the classes are small - there isn't a 'crowd' to find, it's 'you get what you get' - but it's forced mine to befriend people they may not befriend in a larger school
