Avon Lake was a good stepping stone to where I am now, although it falls through in places. Sports and band are more important than anything it seems, and there's a cultural that you either have to be good at sports or extremely smart. There is a lot of room to experiment with the wide range of classes, though. I would have never found my interest for history without the classes I took. The administration have to pick up the slack the counselors do as they have never been a help. Still, it was extremely helpful for college.

Overall, Avon Lake High School is a great school! The teachers are so nice, helpful, and they want you to succeed. All of the students are nice to each other and there is a good atmosphere at the school.

Avon Lake High School has very good academics and teachers that are all very helpful and easy for students to contact. However, there is little to no diversity so insensitive comments by staff and students are common. I'd like to see that change as well as comfortability for students because most do not trust many of the adults in the school.

It's not the worst, but it has declined drastically over the last decade. Need new administration.

Most of the teachers are horrible, they don't teach, teachers take a really long time to grade tests and HW. MANY OF THE TEACHERS SHOULD BE FIRED, if tons of kids are doing poorly in your class it has to be you the teacher, lack of ability to teach. No one in that school cares if your child is bulli...
