Since 1980, Sierra Vista Middle School has provided exceptional opportunities to Baldwin Park's children. It is part of the Baldwin Park Unified School District and on the same premises as Sierra Vista High School. Sierra Vista Middle School offers various enriching programs and electives to prepare students for high school and college. In addition to a gifted and talented program, the AVID elective course provides college-bound students with additional instructional support, counseling and career exploration. Music programs in brass, orchestra and choral instruction are also available, and students interested in pursuing game design as a career or hobby have the opportunity to study it as an elective. A dual language program is also featured at the school for students who previously participated in the program in a BPUSD elementary school or can maintain a C grade in their dual language classes. To meet the needs of working parents, Sierra Vista Middle School has partnered with Think Together, a non-profit after-school organization, to offer diversity education and arts enrichment programs.

As a parent I am disappointed in the day this school handles business. My child started 7th grade 2016-17 school year.
