The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
The Test Score Rating reflects annual state test results for this school compared with scores statewide.

The best part about going to poly is the fact that it's the best public high school in Baltimore when it comes to preparing for college academic and sports wise. With our different pathways and classes you can choose to take you are able to find a subject that you are able to go into and love. The culture is kind of out dated so it isn't as seen much now as it was but we are working on getting it back into flow. The only bad part about the school is that the building is fairly old so some facilities are either very fragile or aren't working at all but that will be fixed in coming years when the whole building is getting renovated

When I transferred to Polytechnic Institute I was instantly welcomed by staff members and students. In the beginning, it was difficult for me to get adjusted to my new classes but everyone helped me to have a successful school year.

Definitely the school to go to for STEM in Baltimore. Routinely produces kids going to high-quality colleges and many of the teachers want to see you succeed!
My daughter and I love this school. It challenges her mind and engages her interest. All of the students here are friendly there’s no bullying and that’s a plus for us. I highly recommend this school.
