Western Tech has an abundance of resources especially for health and environmental science magnets, because they are able to participate in animal dissections, labs with live animals, etc. It also prepares students well for college. However, the workload is unnecessary and many of the teachers are unpleasant to work with.

Overall I think that this is a great school. The workload is challenging and it forces you to be responsible for your own education. You really have to put in effort, connect with and get help from teachers, and so much more if you truly want to succeed

Overall, Western has really shaped who I am today and how I see the world. The school wants so much out of its students it can be very stressful at times, and that is one of the worst parts of the experience. It is great knowing that your teachers want you to succeed, but it's less because they care about us and more because they have a reputation to upkeep.

Where else can one go to learn a trade and take AP courses? Our kids are often able to pay for much of their college tuition through their tr...

Western Tech is a great school academically. Western is a magnet school. The courses are challenging, but not unbearably hard. I'm going there for Health Science and from what I heard, in 12th grade you get internships at local hospitals. Western is very small in size and cramped compared to other s...
