If you put in the effort to get what you want to get out of your education here then you can find it. There are clubs for a variety of things and there are lots of AP courses that one can take. I would say that outside of academics, the environment can be a bit dodgy at times.

At my time at Woodlawn it has been a interesting experience. When I first got there I was a little scared because I didn't know anyone but I grew to enjoy it. The teachers made the school fun they were always so excited to see us and always wanted to help anyway they can. The worst experience at Woodlawn would be the fights. When a fight breaks out it shuts the entire hallway down and some have landed us on the news. One thing I want to see change is safety of the school.

Woodlawn is an academic strong school. Not so much sports, visual & performing arts. There could be a wider selection of clubs for students as well. The teacher do there best with what they are given as well as administration. Over all it could be better, but every school has its up and downs.

Typical EBR school, too worried about scores and not focused on actual learning.

The staff is more concerned with students being in proper dress code opposed to focusing their attention on things that really matter, suc...

Woodlawn High School has a new principal this year and there has been a bit of staff turn over. I have a child in Gifted and one in "General Population". The Gifted children get a superior education. There are TONS of programs (more than Baton Rouge High) and the teachers are great. The General Popu...
