GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experience with Westbrook has been an adventure to say the least. A lot goes on at this school fights, threats etc., but as much as I want to hate on my high school I love the people there they make the school interesting and fun. Administration has been terrible no help when it comes to college readiness except our senior counselor who everyone love, I hope college is so much better than Westbrook high school.

Well, the best part, I would say, was the teachers. They were also one of the worst parts, to be fair. There was a period of time (a few months of my senior year) when I did not have a teacher for my English class. I don't mean to say that they weren't present and assigned online work. I didn't have one at all. We did reading assignments every now and then that some other teacher would hand us, but they were not challenging at all. We were doing elementary-level work. However, I had some of the best teachers of my life while in high school, who motivated and pushed me to do my best work. I respected them and was respected by them. It's not their fault that the work we were assigned was pointless, or the way they had to teach it made learning more difficult. This isn't really a fixable issue, at least not one that I can see a solution to, but the thing I would most like to see change is the disruptances, such as fights and sheltering due to active shooters and the like.

The staff is terrible, they treat the students as they were less, just a terrible school with a horrible staff, I don’t recommended, adding that the voice of the students doesn’t count, the students are never taking in consideration, just a heartless staff. One of the worse schools in my opinion.

I'm a highly ranked 2014 senior at WBHS. Do not send your kid to this school. The bullying is OBSCENE and nothing is done. A majority of the teachers do not care to help students that are confused and actually get aggravated when a question is asked. Disciplinary measures are ridiculously extreme. W...
