Mountainside is a rather interesting high school. Teachers are overall fine, but every year or so there is an exception to that. Sports are vibrant, but academics are alright as well, as the IB program is robust, even if there is zero AP offerings which I'd love to have. Does a decent job in preparing for colleges, has a lot of course diversity between Dual Credit and IB courses, especially in Science.

Mountainside is a well-funded school with plenty of resources, but it does not always handle issues of diversity well, instead opting to take a neutral, rather unhelpful stance. For example, not reprimanding anti-Semitism as to not rock the boat during this time of conflict in the Middle East. The teachers are usually all quite nice.

It was a good sized school that is diverse, but the faculty is lacking. My junior math teacher had a concussion and refused to have a substitute so I had to rely on other math teachers for help. Not only that but in general the language teachers were rude and standoffish when it came to helping students.

I have a sophomore and a senior at Mountainside. I can’t say enough great things about it. I have been so impressed with their teachers ( all but one). There are so many clubs available at the school and of course sports that it’s easy to get involved no matter what your interest is. One of my child...

In our experience this school has great wrestling coaches. Teachers that do the job. From there students are allowed to be harassed by staff, searched unjustly and even when video evidence doesn’t support the searchers claims and the student known to be a good, kind, and standout student athlete the...
