GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Loved the smaller number of graduates in my class because it allows for you to truly get to know your classmates. The teachers were always helpful. The only thing I would like to see changed is more opportunities for a broader range of classes and sports.

The overall experience that I have had over the years of my attendance to Polk County High school, has show me that even though a school may be small that doesn't mean its education system sucks. In fact the teachers are very supportive and also teach you more than what is required.

I loved the spirit of Polk County High School. Whether it was a football game or a pep rally, everyone banned together to show their pride in our school. In addition, I enjoyed building relationships with my teachers as they showed me how to not only learn but also how to think for myself and improve as a person. Overall, there is not much that I do not like about PCHS. If anything could be changed, I would like to see more students being involved with more clubs, or perhaps clubs being created for a wider variety of interests.

I am a Senior at this school and I feel like it is the best around. The school isn't too big, the staff is friendly and helpful, and (besides a few English teachers) all the teachers are amazing at teaching. I made a 22 on my ACT the first time I took it and the second time I took it, I went up at l...

This school is a joke! Education is not a priority. The teachers participate in gossip. Had only a handful of actual teachers. Spend too much time and money on sports.

Polk County High School is a great school. The school is 100 years old and has graduated many, many outstanding young people who have become outstanding citizens either in professional jobs or just good employees in what ever jobs they enter.
