Brentwood Middle School is home to around 170 students in sixth through eighth grade, with a comfortable student-teacher ratio of 10:1. Curriculum and activities at the school are guided by a mission to achieve excellence in academics and character. Expectations, discipline, and classroom experiences are grounded in four core values: respect, integrity, kindness, and perseverance.
The school’s motto is “Excellence in all we do and say – that’s the Brentwood Middle way!” This motto has established standards that set Brentwood Middle School apart from other educational institutions. Test scores at BMS are far above state average, and students here are making more academic progress from one grade to the next compared to students at other schools in Missouri. More than half the students score at or above proficiency level for reading, and nearly two-thirds score at that level for math.
Brentwood middle schoolers and their parents enjoy access to innovative technology to further enhance the students’ education. Online resources allow students and parents to view assignments, grades, and school activities. Weekly e-blasts also help keep parents informed of the latest school news.
Extra-curricular opportunities at BMS include Engineering and Robotics club, National Junior Honor Society, Yearbook, Watercolor, and Book Club. Clubs such as Photography, Gaming, and Intramurals are also offered based on student interest. The National Junior Honor Society members organize events for the school, and a Student Leadership Team plans and supports many of school activities.
A 2018-2023 district-wide construction initiative included updates to Brentwood Middle. The renovations offer safe, enriched learning environments for the students of BMS.

This school and its staff are very personal. All the teachers know all the students. It's like an extended family. Their no-cut policy in athletics ensures that anyone can learn and participate in a team sport. I love this school district!
