The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I truly have loved my time at Harry S. Truman High School. They have great programs to help you decide what you want to do in the future.

As someone leaving Truman next year ill go through some of the experiences at this school. There is no diversity whatsoever. Everyone is either black/ hispanic. 99% do not care about academics. You can easily get caught into the mentality of not caring about your academic life since nobody there does. The culinary subject is incredible though, probably the one and only thing i liked about the school. If you have other options, unless you would like you get into culinary work life after high school, I wouldn't recommend going there.

The school was good overall, no school is perfect. There could be more college readiness since freshmen year and far more reality being put in place. For ex: about scholarships and maintaining grades

This school is very unorganized and the p...

A lot of people comparing about the school, but you get as much out of it as you decide to take. It is rare for a public school to have so many programs, not to mention an award-winning culinary and media program (other programs are theatre, different types of art, photography, band, JORTC, law, gra...

I’m currently a junior finishing up the year and I’m about to be a senior. The school is not in the best area but, the staff is alright but, let’s get to the nitty gritty. Programs- Truman HS offer a vast majority of different programs such as Air Force JROTC (which I am currently a part of) Media,...
