The Bay Ridge Prep experience is completely contradictory to what is advertised. Ignores bullying, or lets it slide, and creates an environment that is grade and testing orientated as opposed to actual learning experiences. Honors students are overworked and held to an unreachable standard, with little acknowledgment.

We were shocked to be told with no warning in May '21 that the school was not a good fit for our 12 yr old. There was no one culminating event & we never got a clear explanation other than 'we just cant support him'. Aside from him being impulsive (which he told them about in his interview) none of the reasons had been discussed before. We had PT conferences in April and had signed a contract in march - crickets. They said he would be all remote for the last 6 weeks of the school year.No explanation was given to our child or any other kids in the class. The remote school was a sad attempt & was disheartening to say the least. It was an INCREDIBLY cruel way to treat a 12 yr old in a pandemic. There are some great teachers but for $64k a year, communication, compassion & some notice are baseline expectations. Not every school is a good fit but to be told in May with no warning is unacceptable, unprofessional & cruel. I have learned this is not the 1st time this has happened in the MS.

As a student at Bay Ridge Prep I would like to see a little more school spirit. The teachers at the school are very well educated and work with the students to help them achieve their best. They are nurturing and caring. The theater department puts on one play and one musical a year. They are great fun and the theater program is very well run and organized. Some of the students are a bit snobby, but they are a small percentage. Overall I had a great experience at the school.
We transferred my son out of a nearby Catholic school to Bay Ridge Prep and could not be happier. His attitude towards school totally changed and instead of dreading waking up every morning, he is excited to get there. The small classes, kind teachers, and family feel of this school is worth every p...
My daughter has been part of this school since lower school and is now in the high school. I can’t say enough amazing things about the teachers, staff and administrators. The principle is absolutely disgusting and gets involved in girl drama. I wish I went to...
