GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experience at Brooklyn Community Arts & Media High School has been mediocre. Most of my teachers have wonderful, however I feel that the classes are a bit too easy. And for an art school with media in the name, I was expecting for there to be a music class or at least a music club. There isn't one. Some of the students here are insufferable, but if you look hard enough you'll find the good ones. All in all, this school isn't the best, but it isn't the worst. I wouldn't recommend it though.

The school shares a building with multiple other schools. There are many good teachers and staff who are great people but not all of them are. School safety there are never around when they are needed. three years ago (2016-2017), the school day ended at 2:00, which was amazing but has since changed to nearly 3:00. Not all of the adults handle things in a mature manner, so unnecessary issues will most likely arise. for most of my time there, I had wished I had gone to a different school and that my time was being wasted.

What I liked were the teachers and some of my classes. What should change is having more variety in their clubs. I also enjoyed meeting new people that later became close friends.

BCAM is a school with a small student body so it has a family atmosphere. The teachers & parents work together to make sure the students reach their full potential. Honestly they have approx 4 Parent/Teacher meetings while most schools only have 2 in a school year. BCAM tunes into a child's creativi...
