At first I disliked the school because I didn't know anybody, but as time went on I met more people who I really connected with. Subjects are just like any other high school like Algebra, Chemistry, History, etc. I am well connected with the teachers and am going to be very upset when I depart with them in June as I have grown to consider them as my family.

El Puente Academy is a environment in which I feel safe and comfortable with my peers and self. I learned a lot about my ancestors and my cultural background that I did not know about before. I learned about the social issues that revolves in society, that I was once naive to notice about racism and gender inequality.

disappointed overall as compared to good things i'd heard about the school in the past. standards are below average, teachers seem to not be necessarily certified nor experienced. lack of discipline...students talk back/curse at teachers and behavior is not called attention to or remediated.

It is a member of the Consortium of Portfolio-based Assessment schools, and...
