P.S. 321 William Penn is located at 180 Seventh Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11215. The school is in the Park Slope neighborhood, where Prospect Park is nearby, and the streets are lined with beautiful trees. The school day begins at 8:30 AM and ends at 2:50 PM each day of the week. Fresh fruit, vegetable, and healthy options are served for breakfast and lunch for all students. Students learn in diverse classrooms, with teachers who instill a school community that promotes respect for all individuals. Parents can rely on teachers to assist kids in developing both creative and critical thinking skills. The curriculum acknowledges that all kids can learn in challenging classrooms with clear objectives. For example, students learn standard math, music, reading, and writing. However, teachers recognize that children learn in several ways and that we must be sensitive to variations in learning styles and give extra support to kids who require it. At P.S. 321 William Penn, family is a core value. Thus, the school welcomes parents to Family Tech Day, and on the first Friday of every month (beginning in October), all parents are invited into the classrooms to read to the children or play games.

We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Teachers truly support one another and collaborate, and parent engagement is wonderful. Thoughtful curriculum engages students in all areas in a calm supp...

PS 321 is an excellent school if your child has no learning disabilities or social/emotional issues. It is also good if your child’s issues are prominent enough that a neuro-psych evaluation got you an IEP with extra instruction. Your child will benefit from the extra instruction and being in a soci...

I didn't appreciate how wonderful this school is until my children moved on in the school system. Liz Philips is wonderful. The teachers are engaged, and my kids have fond memories of their classes.

My daughter went here years ago from Kindergarten until half of Second Grade. They lack diversity and were not accommodating to kids who needed the extra help. My daughter was diagnosed with ADHD in second grade, and was transferred to PS 133. There she received the help and support she needed to su...
