The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
The Test Score Rating reflects annual state test results for this school compared with scores statewide.

My experience at Brownfield High School has been fairly good, I have gained so much experience from the time I've been there. I liked that the teachers really do care about teaching you and that they'll help you a lot. There is also so many activities to join. If one thing could change it would be to make dual credit free because it's too expense for people who actually want to join.

School system is not good. Administration does not support new innovative teachers and we lose them. Some college readiness courses help but high school geared towards passing STARR exam, and after you pass it,you are on your own.
They don't really care about students they just focus on sports. They spent tons of money making a new field house instead of making repairs to the middle school which is like falling apart. They act so fake when state officials come to inspect the school. They're constantly having to replace teache...

For 2 years the high school has gone without a real chemistry teacher, and for decades hasn't offered any higher math courses leaving student woefully unprepared. The statistics speak for themselves, as...
Wouldn't hire new math teachers, some students went without a math teacher for almost a year. Funding is spent mostly on football team. They used to have a dress code now the kids are allowed to look indecent. Some of the teachers want to be friends with the students and don't care about the student...
BISD can be a great school, the administration ties the hands of the teacher. Disruption in the classroom is a common pratice and the front office lets this slide. The turn over rate for Math teachers are terriable. Most students dislike math at the High School level and homework is a must to catch...
