GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I feel like my school is too strict on their dress code and they also need to get their own softball field instead of using the city field

Calera High School is full of teachers and staff who don't care about anything but their paychecks. I was bullied all throughout my time there and none of the staff ever did anything to try and help. They don;t put any kind of funding into important things like classrooms and books, they flood the majority of funding into sports. So much so that the music programs are practically nonexistent and the one art teacher for grades k-12 has to buy nearly all of her supplies out of pocket.

I would choose this school in the very beginning if I could. This school has a unique way of working around our schedules to better our education for the future such as votech. I am attending the bio med program right now and it is a college prep class that prepares me for the medical part of my career. My school was willing to work around my sports schedule so I could attend this class.
