Avondale Elementary School is located in Canton, Ohio, and serves the Avondale and Meyers Lake communities. One of six elementary schools in the Plain Local School District, it serves about 250 students in kindergarten through fourth grade.
Avondale Elementary has high expectations for its students, and Avondale students rise to the challenge. Students consistently rank high in both math and reading on standardized state tests, and the school consistently ranks in the top tier of elementary schools in Ohio.
Avondale Elementary incorporates research and best practices into its teaching model. Teachers use a variety of diagnostic tools to monitor student progress throughout the school year and employ intervention and enrichment programs to target individual strengths and weaknesses.
In addition to academics, Avondale emphasizes instruction in the fine arts and strives to provide state-of-the-art technology for every student. The goal is to lay a foundation for student success in intermediate school and beyond.
