Worley Elementary School, located in the North Lehman neighborhood on Canton's northwest side, enrolls about 300 students kindergarten through sixth grade. It is a part of the Canton City School District, one of the largest public school districts in Ohio. Originally opened in 1918, Worley moved into its new building in 2003. Built at a cost of $7.5 million on the site of the former school, it was part of the district’s historic Design for the Future initiative, which passed in 1999 and rebuilt or renovated every school building in Canton. As a true elementary school, Worley provides the transition for students from the primary to intermediate grades, all under one roof. The goal is to help students build confidence and develop a foundation for success in middle school and beyond. In addition to receiving instruction in the early childhood core subjects, students also have the opportunity to participate in art, music, physical education, digital learning and technology skills. Through fun and challenging , Worley students are taught how to be creative problem-solvers. In addition to the core academic offerings, students in fifth and sixth grade also have the choice to participate in vocal and instrumental music programs in conjunction with the middle schools in the district.
