Overall Carmel High school served me well and I enjoyed my time there. The teachers often worked hard and my classes were sufficiently challenging at the AP level. There is a very clear bias towards STEM and athletics (particularly football) and I often felt like this limited my opportunities in the humanities and arts.

My name is Charles Berardi & I am a high school senior at Carmel High School in Putnam County, New York. I believe I deserve this scholarship because I am a student with ADHD. I have had many obstacles to overcome while both in school & outside of school. I am now a senior in high school, a certified lifeguard at a swim instruction school, & I have been accepted into numerous colleges when at first the thought of college was merely a dream to me. I have been able to come very far in the last few years but my family is not rich & I have 3 other brothers. At least one of them will be college at the same time as I am as well during my time at school. This scholarship would help my family tremendously financially to make my college dreams & the dreams of my brothers a reality. I am looking to study Computer Sciences so that I can have a career that will help me in the future. I want to be a productive member of society & I know college is the way to get me there.

Went to CHS in 2009-2013. Overall it’s a great school with tons of nostalgia, but like any high school it comes with its fair-share of junk to deal with. Teachers and Staff were my absolute favorite but the kids in the school can be rough at times. It’s important to try to find you’re niche and peop...
