GreatSchools Rating

Source: GreatSchools
GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Cheraw is a very small school only having around 250 kids school-wide and about 50 kids within the high school. Cheraw has always a very tight-knit family oriented school. Which makes it easy to catch up with teachers and pretty much everybody throughout the day. Yes, being a small community we do have downfalls but I'd take this well rounded school over a bigger 5a school any day.

This is a wonderful school. I was in a class of 9 in 1th grade and by the time I graduated 1 of 6. The classmates and I were like brothers and sisters. The whole School pk-12 is about 200 students. The teachers all care about the students like their own children/ grandchildren. I loved the school and staff.

The lunch ladies are very sweet but the food is disgusting. Very often almost the entire school leaves for lunch because it is so gross. The school can not afford good food or varieties like other schools have. It is a great school and sometimes they feed us good but most of the time it is gross. The place is very clean though and the people are kind. I wish they would put a vending machine in though for snacks because we do not get snacks unless we are testing and the staff has to make them for free.

Absolutely terrible. This school made me feel like I was nothing. The administration bullied just as bad as the students, and nobody seemed to care. Attended from 2nd grade thru 10th grade and was very depressed majority of the time.

With no one else actually writing anything, I will suppose the five star ratings are from staff. Unless you fall into a particular clique, you will find that your child will be limited academically at this school. If you would like your athletically mediocre and academically poor student to get thei...
