Over its many years as the neighborhood public elementary school, a thriving community has developed around it. This is a Level 1 pre-kindergarten and K-8 school with top ratings for community involvement. Attendance is significantly higher than average for its 240 students and its teachers alike. In general, the official numbers support the narrative: People care about the education students receive at Columbus.
Speaking of education, it's a quality public program with a few twists. The biggest surprise is the language program, offered in both Spanish and Ukrainian. Pros: -There is only one class per grade. We are just three weeks in with our son in PreK at Columbus, but its been a great experience so far. He enjoys going to school each day and sang the "ABC" song to us perfectly after just a couple of weeks at the school. This is something we've been working on at home for months without much success...

Our daughter has been there since pre-k 3 and loves going to school each day. Because it's a small school the administration knows the kids and families well and it feels very safe and warm. They have pride in the school and promote that in the children. Go sharks!
