Francis M. McKay Elementary School is a Chicago Public Schools elementary school that serves children from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade with an average enrollment of more than 600 students. McKay Elementary attempts to foster an active and engaging educational environment whose curriculum focuses on reading, math, science and writing. The school practices three schoolwide systems to support students. These systems include Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports and Advancement Via Individual Determination, which focus on specific issues, and CHAMPS. CHAMPS is a classroom management system intended to ensure students are motivated and engaged, as its name stands for conversation, help, activity, movement, participation and success.
Specialized academic programs available to students include an academic bowl, mathletes, young authors contest and more. Arts programs are also offered and include ballroom dancing, ballet and choir. Students can participate in a variety of sports such as basketball, football, track and field and volleyball. Other extracurricular activities include math club, cooking club and student council.

The school's performance has been extremely concerning. My child was neglected, denied water, and not provided with any meaningful education. I have documented evidence of these incidents on a device I sent to the school. Even during a season when hydration is crucial, my child was not given water....
