Spencer Technology Academy enrolls approximately 500 prekindergarten through eighth-grade students on Chicago's West Side at 214 N. Lavergne Avenue. Focused on a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM)-based curriculum, Spencer Technology Academy emphasizes technology use in the classroom as one of the Chicago Public Schools system's five technology academies. Students enjoy a curriculum of science, literacy, math, technology, music, social studies and Special Education where appropriate. The Wi-Fi-enabled Spencer Technology Academy features two computer labs and one science lab to enhance students' learning experience. Rewarding extracurricular activities encourage students at Spencer Technology Academy to pursue knowledge always and remain engaged through culturally relevant programming. Students are required to wear uniforms consisting of black or blue pants and a Spencer-issued shirt. Employing a team of educators and school specialists, Spencer Technology Academy meets students' emotional and learning needs with a school psychologist, guidance counselor, social worker and speech pathologist. Supporting peer-to-peer collaboration and team spirit, the Spencer Elementary Seahawks can participate in basketball, football, track and field, volleyball and intramural sports. On a mission to empower informed and compassionate global citizens, Spencer Technology nurtures students’ scholastic, personal and professional success.

Spencer has great Parenting Classes and start all grades on Technology and High Standards for their Students. Just need more parents involvements on their own. Luv the open door policy the Principal have there too!! ~ Mr. Bright-Triplett
