Overall, Chugiak High School is great. Almost all of the teachers I had really cared about their students as people, and there are a lot of teachers that put in a ton of extra work, both outside their contract hours and through supporting student extracurriculars. However, there is a lot of favoritism in the performing arts programs that I believe is largely ignored. I would like to see that change, and to see more than the same two or three students be given a chance in the spotlight.

I started here as a Junior, I joined the student gov and was accepted to the National Honor Society in 4th quarter. I also participated in track and field. Chugiak has really good athletes and lots of resources.

Overall, you can get a decent education here, but some of the teachers are very difficult and can make the schooling miserable. The cross country and track teams are consistently very good despite the small size of the school and have amazing coaches. The choir teacher, Mrs. Easton-Petito is also excellent.

Small town vibe that's connected to the very large Anchorage School District. Your child will likely have a good experience in English, Science, and History courses. If you child can teach themselves Math then they will do well. If your kiddo struggles (even just a little bit) they will have a hard...
