Technology has made our world smaller and closer. The global community is a reality; at Irmo Middle School, it’s part of the curriculum. Serving grades six through eight, Irmo Middle School is the International Academic Magnet school, helping students build the skills to be successful citizens in a global society. With the help of internet technology, Irmo's sixth, seventh, and eighth graders collaborate with other students across the nation and the world, offering tremendous exposure and the opportunity to build meaningful connections. Students can earn high school credit in nine different subject areas. In addition to the core subjects, the school offers classes in visual and performing arts, music technology, and languages such as Latin, Spanish, German and French. Irmo Middle School is also home to the International Academic Magnet Escolares Academic Magnet school, a specialized program for self-directed learning opportunities in critical and creative thinking. Other programs at Irmo include school athletics and SOAR, an after-school program to support students struggling with math and English.

I love how involved the faculty is with the lives of these children. They all want the best for them and sometimes it's really hard when they don't want the best for themselves. From what I've seen they have done a great job to help make these students have the best experience they can possibly have.

It’s a good place if you’re prepared for a lot of misbehaving kids. Everyone at this school has at least one class that no one is behaving, they had to make a program to hide the kids that act up to show how bad it is. The arts programs are fun, I’m in it and it’s really nice! The school is also not...

We enrolled in this school for the Escolores Academic Magnet Program. My child’s standardized test scores soared, and his discipline to study for classroom tests also improved. This has been a great experience for our child and family!

This school is not to bad , but people are so rude here and they don't do anything about bullying. The teachers are mostly nice but some of the teachers are just so rude for no reason. Also they have such an issue with using the bathroom, like I am a human I need to go. I felt like such a failure af...

A lot of fighting, but there is respect and a lott of good in this school. There may be rowdy kids but the teachers care and the good kids are absolute gems. It also gives them opportunities to express themselves like sports, band, design, etc. so it has flaws but it is great
