St. Peter’s Catholic School has served young Columbia students since 1852. This private school is located in the center of the Arsenal Hill neighborhood, next to Finlay Park and the Columbia Museum of Art. Its early childhood program serves toddlers, and its school serves students in kindergarten through Grade 6. The school has 137 students currently enrolled and averages 12 students per classroom.
St. Peter’s Catholic School features an exceptional music program in partnership with the University of South Carolina, focusing on music appreciation and expression. The school also features a financial literacy program taught by local business professionals to provide students with the practical knowledge needed for economic success.
The school is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. As part of the Catholic Diocese of Charleston, St. Peter’s follows the same rigorous curriculum guidelines as all Catholic schools in South Carolina.

This school is amazing! The nurturing environment is so comforting for my little boy. The admin. works hard to make sure the students and teachers are supported. The teachers are dedicated and really go above and beyond to ensure my son’s needs are met. I cannot recommend Saint Peter’s enough.
