The best part about this school is the people, everyone comes together for events such as rallies. However, there is barely any communication about senior events or important stuff like that.

The teachers and staff at Ygnacio Valley High School really care about all of their students. They are all incredibly active in school culture and I truly believe that they want every single one of us to succeed. The students are very nice (the ones I have met so far) and I enjoy all of my classmate's company.

The School isn't funded well but I don't blame that on the school or the school admins itself, but more so on the state government for providing such little funds to the school. What I can blame the school for however is the lack of care that many instructors seem to have for their students. As a student at Ygnacio Valley two years ago, I've been in classrooms that literally did not have a teacher to instruct the class. It was my algebra class, needless to say, everybody in that class did poorly on the math portion of their future tests. There are great instructors that do teach at YV and if you look hard enough and dedicate yourself to studies, you can do very well post- highschool, however, that wasn't the case for nearly 90% of my graduating class. I understand that schooling isn't the ultimate factor for a child's success, but it does make up a very significant portion of those factors.

Our daughter attended YVHS all four years of high school, graduated in 2020 and is now attending UC Berkeley. Our son is a junior at YV on the Engineering pathway. Both have had excellent teachers, made friends and experienced cultural diversity. YV is a big family, working together for student succ...

I graduated in 1969. I thought YVHS was a great school. We had great teachers and a solid college prep program. We didn't have AP back then. We had lots of activities and a very active student body. My class had about 650 students with a total student body population of about 3,000. I worked hard bu...

Currently, I'm a sophomore here and i have to say i have no complaints about receiving my education here, despite what others may think. its hilarious how people make this school out to be. Yes, the rumors are true to some extent, like the Hispanic population, bu...
